WANGANUI MALE CHOIR.
TU-NIGHT’S CONCERT
The programme to be given this even, ing by the Wanganui Male Choir and assisting artists promises to be one of exceptional merit. Reports of the concert given by the choir in Wanganui last week indicate that it is singing with fine tone and balance, and its programme this evening includes several humorous numbers quite new to Hawera audiences. The assisting artists have been engaged by the Wanganui Choir at its own expense, and their names alone should attract a large audience—Mrs. Leo Campion, contralto, a New Zealand gold medallist; Mr. Trevor Thomas, baritone, and soloist at the New Plymouth Choir’s last concert; Mr. W. Robertson, and Mr. Orren Hales, the well-known Wanganui elocutionist. The Wanganui Choir is visiting Hawera largely at its own expense, and the proceeds of the concert will go to assist the local choir in its work, it is therefore confidently anticipated that the Hawera public will attend in large numbers and give the Wanganui Choir and visiting artists a reception worthy of the town.
