MOTHER AND BABE. SAD INCIDENT ON lONIC. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 1. Mrs Ann Mackintosh Urquhart, a third-class passenger by R.M.S. lonic, from England, gave birth to a still-born £aby when the vessel was sixteen days out from Panama, and, in spite of expert medical attention, died the following day from collapse and exlampsia. . Both were buried at sea in' the evening, the lonic being hove to for the purpose. Rev. C. Hepworth, who is bound to Australia as representative of the S.P.C.K., conducted the funeral service, and all activities on the ship ceased while the ceremony took place.
