™ Tho ,?' e P° rt stated that though the Club did not win the Championship, y hey were by no ' means disgraced, unshing fifth on the list of competing teams. The pride of place amono- members was easily gained by J. '’Smith, who besides scoring 316 runs with an average of 29.32, took 38 wickets at a cost of 11.5 runs per wicket. H. Finday.’i A. Gibbs and M. Hoult also did \ieil with the bat, Findlay scoring 152 runs, Gibbs 147 in 10 innings, and Hoult also did well with the ball Hoult taking 21 wickets, with an averago or 17.5, Hamel 6 for 10.15 and lindlay 12 for 13.1 A glance at the balance sheet will serve t 0 show that some additional; steps must be taken to meet the liability entailed by travelling to the various matches, as during the past year the cost for this item alone amounted to £29 ss. It is suggested that this difficulty can be met by each player agreeing to contribute 7 s each Saturday towards a travelling fund. This would easilv bring in approximately £27 10s during the season, and with assistance from the ordinary funds should suffice to meet all I ravelling expenses. The estimated receipts and expenditure for the current year on this basis are £4B 18 and £46 10s 8d respectively. Ihe report and balance sheet were adopted.
