SAFETY OF MARINERS. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.") WELLINGTON. Aug. 18. At the conclusion of the memorial service at the Sailors' Friend Society's rooms, a resolution was carried urging the Government to have wireless installed on all vessels trading on the New Zealand coast. RESIDENCE DESTROYED. PAHIATUA. Aug. 18. A six-roomed residence, owned by the Education Department and occupied bv R. S. Warwick, headmaster, and his family, with the contents, was totally destroyed by fire yesterday morning. The occupants had a very narrow escape in their night attire. On the furniture the insurance was £3OO in the National.
