LORD JELLICOE’S PRAISE, Cry tv.T.EGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) , CHRISTCHURCH, August 13. “When I leave New Zealand I will feel that the Dominion has commenced a division of the Royal Navy of its own. which I am quite certain is going far/’ said Lord Jellicoe. at the Christchurch ex-service men’s farewell todaj,/ His Excellency added that he had .see'n a great many of the recruits who had been gained for the) Royal Navy in the Dominion, and was filled with admiration of the spirit they had shown. It was what one might expect from a Dominion which had established a reputation second to none in the war. There were sixteen young fellows who had gone home to study th, c higher branches of the service, and he did"not think that sufficient publicity was given to what they had done. AH had distinguished themselves. Those studying gunnery had gone' right to the top, and also those studying the torDedo branch and mechanical and stokehold branch. The commodore in command stated that the bovs had exceeded his highest expectations, and provided New Zealand supplied enough recruits her future in the navy was assured.
