HARBOUR BOARDS.

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 15. At the Harbour Boards’ Conference a recommendation wiys agreed to authorising the harbour boards to pay annual premiums on fatality insurance policies. The conference endorsed a remit suggesting that the association should take up with the New Zealand Underwriters’ Association the matter of fidelity guarantee policies being brought more into line with the principles underlying the security furnished by personal bonds. The matter was left with the executive to deal with.-

It was agreed to- suggest that the Harbour Boards Act should be amepded by increasing the allowance which hoards may make to the chairman from, £2OO to £4OO.

The election of officers resulted: President, Mr G. Mitchell (Wellington); vice-presidents, Messrs H. R. Mackenzie (Auckland), F. Horrell (Lyttelton), D. Larnach (Otago); other members of the executive, Messrs C E. Ellison (Napier), C. E. Bellringer (New Plymouth), A. G. Bignell (Wanganui), W. Hayman (Timaru), Captain C. Ale Arthur (Wellington); secretary, Air A. G. Barnett (Wellington); auditor, Air. H. E. Nieholls (Wellington).
