W.E.A. CLASS.

Several matters affecting the welfare of Uil- w.ia.A. Class were discussed at tlie meeting a,r tlie committee last evening. it was decided to continue bolding the meetings in the old Technical ochool, the iree use of winch has Been granted by the Education iioaru. W hue the attendance at the classes has been fair, it has not been so good as was expected, and a number who handed in their names as members have been frequently absent, it was thought possible that the night was unsuitable, out it was pointed out that Thursday had been fixtd by a vote at the first meeting, and that some yvho are now regular attendants could not be present if a change was made to Tuesday, the only other available night, it was therefore' deemed unwise to make any change. The question of finance wa sraised. The tator (Mr Sheat) explained that if the classes were to be continued it would be necessary to obtain some financial support from local bodies and others, who recognised the value of instruction in economics. In other districts local bodies made generous donations. It was agreed that the emmittee meet at 7 o’clock next Thursday evening to consider what steps should be taken to obtain support. it was announced that Professor Hunter, who has been appointed supervisor or inspector of the classes, would be visiting Hawera in less than a fortnight, but would not deliver rny address, the object of his visit being to learn bow far the lass was su.-eied-ing. It was suggested ’.hat some usemight be made of the visit, m an csing public interest.

It was unsolved that an rppe.il be made to all those who handed in their names as members for their mbsei iption of ss. At the meeting on ' r hi.i*dav evening further means’will >e • iscussed fo.r making the classes beneficial and for ensuring their continuance.
