TE KIRI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The children’s fancy dress ball to be held on August 15 promises to be a great success, judging by the enthusiasm of the little ones. 1 believe every one is going in fancy dress, as are also some from neighbouring schools. The committee intend having a. sitdown supper, including fruit salad, etc., if the supper-room is ready; and as the timber lias arrived at last, no doubt the hall committee will manage it. The foundations are already laid, and there will be quite a “busy bee” scene this week. Prizes are being given this time at the ball, including 13 years to 17 years, 7 to 12 years, and under 7 years for girls, anj two classes for boys, the judging to be by the spectators. Air. O Stock well (chai ■man of the school committee) has left the district, and although he has only gone as far as Awn tuna he will he missed in Te Kiri. I am sorry to report that Airs T. Gntenbv is at present in the hospital.
