GOLF.
CHAMPION PLAYER IN FILM. Every golfer should make a point ol •seeing the slow motion picture showing the cnampion player, Dene Sarazen, making a series of* stiots and illustrating all that is necessary to make a first ranker. Just betoire each slow motion film is shown the shot as he actually plays it, and it will be noted that lie always takes a practice swing, and is then very careful to get a correct easy stance. His grip is the interlocking throughout, and special features of the swing are the slow back action, the firm rigid left arm, the elbows close into the body, the firm eight leg with knee locked, the wrists away before the body turns, the body pivoting and then the arms coming through at full length through the whole of the swing, especially at the impact of club with the ball, and the head not coming up . until the final swing of the body at the end seems to bring it up. The ball is well away in its flight before the head, moves up at all, and then the player watches carefully along the line of flight. One important point is that h-e is as firm as a rock at the moment of impact, and the whole of the weight is concentrated at that point. There is no swaying of the body. He plays more towards the right than the left foot, and in the putting the same. Every shot is firm and confident. It is a fine object lesson to golfers in the essential features of the good shot. It was shown at the Opera House last night, and will be repeated there to-night. Yesterday Mr Conroy very kindly gave two private showings in the afternoon to a number of local players, and all were delighted with the celarness of the picture and the perfection of detail to *he seen.
