At Wembley, Gibbons (America) knocked out Bloomfield (England) in the third round. In the first round Gibbons rushed heavy blows to the body, which beat Bloomfield more than once. He steadied hnn with powerful lefts in the second. \\ hue the American was raining short arm blows to the body, Bloomfield was going for the head. Near the end of the round Gibbons floored the Englishman with a left hook to the jaw. Bloomfield staggered to his feet at the count of six, but was again floored, the bell saving him from being counted out.
