Australian Press Association's special Dublin correspondent says that the balance of the Australian Olympicteam have arrived, and all are now here except- Charlton and the Eve brothers, who arrive on Monday. George Cook (Australia) is suffering trom a painful swelling of the right biceps, and was unable to meet Keeney (iNew Zealand) in the heavy-weight contest at Wembley yesterday. FRENCHMAN DEFEATS BELGIAN. _ PARIS, Aug. 10. In a 20-round contest for the lightweight championship of Europe, the frenchman Bretonnel beat the Belgian Germain in the thirteenth round. The loser was disqualified for abandoning witnout an adequate excuse. CONTESTS IN IRELAND.; LONDON, Aug. 9. At the Tailteann Games in Dublin, ni the final of the light-weight boxing, Purdie (New Zealand) beat Dwyer (Ireland). LOCKE DEFEATS EVANS. SYDNEY, Aug. 10. At the Stadium, Frank Locke defeated Charhe Evans on points after 20 hard, gruelling rounds. GIBBONS BEATS BLOOMFIELD. LONDON, Aug. 9. At Wembley, Gibbons (America) knocked out Bloomfield (England) in the third round. In the first round Gibbons rushed heavy blows to the body, which beat Bloomfield more than once. He steadied hnn with powerful lefts in the second. \\ hue the American was raining short arm blows to the body, Bloomfield was going for the head. Near the end of the round Gibbons floored the Englishman with a left hook to the jaw. Bloomfield staggered to his feet at the count of six, but was again floored, the bell saving him from being counted out.
In the third round Bloomfield came out groggy, the American, with a right and lefts to the head, flooring him. Bloomfield rose, but another punch knocked him out. ATHLETICS. CROSS-COUNTRY RUN.
