THE WEATHER
The Government Meteorologist telegraphed that for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day the indications arc; for southerly winds., strong to gale, but decreasing shortly. Weather probably cold and changeable, with scattered showers. The night will probably lie very cold, with frosts inland. Barometer rising; seas considerable'; tides moderate.
