LOANS FROM BRITAIN. QUESTION IN COMMONS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT T . LONDON, Aug. 5. In the House of Commons Mr J. R Remer (Conservative) inquired whether the Treasury was facilitating New Zeahind s Arapuni power scheme in view of the fact that a. foreign sub-contirac-rvwv rece ived a contract for £200,000 worth of equipment which might have been placed in Britain. . Fhillip Snowden (Chancellor of the Exchequer) replied that he understood New Zealand was considering applying for a loan under the Trade facilities Act in connection with the scheme, but no application had been received. Such loans weire only available for contract-promoting employment in Britain.
