ROAD BLOCKED.

SLIP IN MANAWATU GORGE. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION, l WELLINGTON, Aug. 2. Advice has been received here that the Manawatu Gorge road is blocked by aq enormous slip. The slips earlier in the week have been cleared away, but now another has occurred at the eastern end, where road widening is in progress. The road is likely to be dosed indefinitely. Large slips hare also fallen on the top of the hill on Akatarawa road, now much used as a short cut from Pamerston to the Hutt Valiev.
