STREET CHASE.
A WANTED MAN. (IIY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aim. 2. The police have lately been searching for a man alleged to lie concerned in altering a £1 note to a £2O note. A constable came across a man in a Clyde Quay hotel bar whose, appearance agreed with that of the wanted man. He was having a drink at the moment and when the constable quietly told him his presence at the police station was desired, the man seemed willing enough to go along, but asked to Ik? allowed to finish his drink. Instead of doing this he dashed out of the door and, closely followed by the policeman, went in and out several nearby streets at a rapid pace. A crowd gathered to watch the race, and the fugitive dashed through them, thus gaining on his pursuer. The latter, however, jumped on a motor lorry ami made up some of the lost ground. Eventually he came upon the man in private premises in a street a" little distance from the start of the chase, and arrested him. The man gave his name as Harrison, and appeared in court to-dav.
