BOXING.
ELTHAM ASSOCIATION. . meeting of the executive of the Eltham Boxing Association was held m Mr H. H. Marchant’s office on JLhursday evening. Present: Messrs J. Best (chairman), A. O. Casev, H. H. Marchant, A. Ware, A. Whiting, P. Hawke, R, Moller, A. Hurrell, and A. Dobson (secretary). The N.Z.B.A. wrote stating that the next meeting was to be held at Wellington on August 11.—Received. R-. R. Fitzsimmons wrote regarding expenses in connection with last tournament. —Secretary instructed to attend to this matter. Mr Whiting said it had been suggested that a team of bovs he brought troni Wellington to the next Eltham tournament. These hoys, who would vary in grade, w r ould be a splendid advertisement for the tournament. vii L Mid the b °ys could he billetted out, and thus the expenses could be cut dow 7 n, and it w 7 ould lie possible to get the Railway Department to make concessions in fares. A trip to the mountain could be arranged, and thus Eltham would have a splendid advertisement. Those present expressed themselves favourable to the proDOsition, and the secretary was authorised to make the best arrangements possible. The secretary was instructed to telegraph to the Wellington Centre, asking that August 30 be set aside as the date for the Eltham tournament. Several suggestions in connection with the advertising of the next tournament were discussed,' and it w 7 as resolved that large streamers be displayed in conspicuous ulaces in the town.
