OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. “THE SCARLET LILY.” ■ The beautiful Katherine MacDonald, known all over the wide world as “The American Beauty of the Screen,” opens this evening at the Opera House with her latest—and finest—cinema production. It is “The Scarlet Lily,” a First National picture produced by B. P, Sehulberg, and directed by Victoi Schertzinger from Fred Sittenliam’s original story. Miss MacDonald is seen as the wife of a candidate for the district attorneyship, who faces defeat and professional ruin because liis .wife, in a. time of great distress, had become involved, quite innocently, with a notorious politician. The .story bares some of the workings of the “political game,” giving an insight into the utl scrupulous methods which characterise it. A really excellent supporting programme will be provided.
