The American University Tennis Association has invited Melbourne University to assist in developing an interactional university tennis championship on the lines of the Davis Cup comeptition. At Glencoe, Patterson and Wood (Australia! won the Illinois doubles championship, defeating Howard Kinsey and Robert Kinsey (San Firaucisco) holders of the national title, 6—3, 3—6, 6—3. 6—B, 6—4. W. T. Tilden won the singles championship, defeating Howard Kinsey 6—l, o—6, 6—4, 6—3. BOXING. STAKES WITHHELD. MELBOURNE, July 21.
