TRIAL OF UNION OFFICIALS. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT : . SYDNEY, July 21. Th© trial of union officials on a charge of conspiracy has commenced. After .evidence had been given for the prosecution on lines similar to that previously cabled, the case was adjourned until to-morrow. Bail was refused. AN UNUSUAL CLAIM. SYDNEY, July 21. The Federal Arbitration Court has commenced the hearing of a claim by the Federated Seamen’s Union against the Commonwealth Steamship Owners’ Association for the payment of wages to the crew of the steamer Sares, who were imprisoned in Adelaide for refusing duty. The union claimed the men should be paid while in gaol. The hearing was adjourned to Melbourne. FIGHT WITH AXES. _ SYDNEY, July 21. Details of the Wantabadgery tragedy show that the two men were on a drinking bout when an altercation arose. It is alleged it ended with them fighting £ith axes. Both were terribly injured, Sheldon succumbing a few hours later.
