FATE OF CREW
DOUCtf .AS MAWSON STORY
ALLEGED MURDER, BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT i DARWIN, July 21. Expei nautical men, disbelieving trie Douglas Ma-wson story regarding the alleged murden- of the crew and capture of two women bv blacks, declare that conclusive- proof lias been secured that the Dough« Alawson was wrecked 400 miles from the point where the natives 'are reported to have murdered some of the crew. 'They claim that neither the vessel nor the crew could have reached such a position in the violent cyclonic storm which raged at the time of the wreck. They also point out that three mission stations and a police station are within a 200-mile radius of the .scene or the alleged, tragedy, and the missionaries could not have failed to hear something long since.
A search expedition, commanded by Colonel Storey, will proceed by sea from Darwin to Boorooloola. The party will be fully armed, as fighting with the natives is anticipated.
