MOTOR MISHAPS.
A BOY RUN OVER. . A boy about seven years of age named Thomas Prichard, the son of Mrs. Prichard, of Campbell Street, Nolant°wn, was run over by a. motor-ear in 1 Tawhiti Road last evening and was injured. It seems that the boy was playing at the side of the road, and as the car advanced he ran right into it. The driver of the car picked the boy up and immediately drove him to the hospital. On inquiry this morning a Star reporter was informed that the boy was only shaken, arid his injuries are not serious. MOTOR CYCLE ACCIDENTS. A Kakaramea correspondent sends us the following report of motor Mr W. Potts was dragged along by his motor-cycle a week or so ago, and in getting it under control again executed a. few “sevens,” sustaining a lacerated hand in the attempt. An accident that might easily have ended fatally at the time befel Mr. “Whlly” Shunders, of Ball Road, in the early hours of last Friday morning. He was coming back from Hawera on his motor-cycle, and when near or passing Mr. Lillicrap’s place on the South Road his machine caught fire, enveloping him in flames, he and the machine coming to the ground.. Fortunately, it appears, Mr. Lillicrap saw the blaze and rushed out. to find Mr. Saunders lying near his blazing machine in an unconscious condition. He was remov. ed to the hospital in Hawera. On inquiry this morning a reporter was informed that he was progressing as well as could be expected.
