A bushman from the country had a most unusual experience in Greymouth (says an exchange). Allegedly while somewhat intoxicated, he went to a chemist’s shop to buy some medicine, and pulled out £3O in notes. The chemist took the money from him and held it- in trust till the following day. when, upon bis recovery, the owner bad the mon\’ refunded to him. A suggestion that, severe penalties be imposed for the publication and sale of unauthorised race cards m connection with any registered racing, hunt, or trotting club meeting is made to the Minister ol Internal Affairs in a question notified in the House, of Representatives by Mi-. T'. W. I’bodes (Thames). Mr. Rhodes stated that unauthorised cards bad .been printed and sold recently in different parts of the Auckland district, thereby causing financial loss to the clubs publishing their own cards, or to the printer who purchased the right to publish enrds. Furthermore, he said, the public were imposed upon by being sold inaccurate cards. CHILDREN’S COLDS.
