The Government Meteorologist telegraphed that for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day the indications are for variable' )t>nd .moderate breeczs, but south-westerly moderate prevailing. There is a prospect of fair weather, ami the■ night will probably lie very cold, with, frosts inland and foggy early. Barometer falling shortly. Seas moderate ; tides poor.
