The inquest on the girl Dodds, aged 8, who with her mother was found last April in a state of collapse as a. result of .severe gashes on the wrists and head, and who later died, resulted in Mrs Dodds being committed for trial on, a charge of murder. The police gave evidence that on arrival at the house, Mrs Dodds said: “I have a job for you at last. I am' sorry I did not finish the two of us.” It was also alleged that she confessed that she battered the child’s head with a hammer.
