The resignation of A. R. J. Linn ironi the Hawera County Council was to-day received with regret. :or. Linn will he retiring to New Plymouth in about three weeks’ time, after having been a prominent figure in the dairying life of the district fc.r a number of years. The first fall of snow for the winter occurred yesterday at the Dawson Falls, on Mount Egihont. and there are three to four inches of snow lying ■round the hostel. Motor cars, however, will, have no trouble in getting right up tp the house.
