THE GAME IN AUSTRALIA. MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. ■T OXBIM—PftISS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT SYDNEY, Julv 1. Ihe annual meeting: of the Lawn Tennis Association was held to-dav. The report showed a credit balance of £6OOO. The Davis Cup tour in 1923 yielded the association £5201, while the expenses of the team amounted to £2869. It was decided , that the Australasian championships in 1925 he plaved at Sydney from January 19 to 30. ' A motion that in future Australia be represented in the Davis Cup competitions not more frequently than once in two years ryas defeated. The mover’s object was to secure that Australia, would be represented at full strength, instead of sometimes being divided, as under existing conditions. INTENTIONS OF BROOKES. Received July 2, 9.5 a.m. LONDON, July 1. Brookes states that he has received from Patterson a cabled invitation to join the Davis Cup team against America. but has declined. He may play in the additional English tournaments and then .'the. Swedish''championships, in accordance with his promise to the King of Sweden, with whom he played at the Riviera.—Aus.-N.Z.
