The Minister refused- and the dispute continues. DUTY ON IMPORTED TIMBER.. ? /'*■/ : ' • SYDNEY, July 1. A, deputation from the .Country Sawmillers Association asken the Minister for Customs to induce the Government to increase the duty on all imported timber by 5s per 100 superficial feet. The •■Minister- said he was not in‘ svmpathy with the request, but he -would try to induce the Government to grant special facilities for the export of Australian. hardwood, as he was convinced there was a large export market for this timber.
