ENGLISH COUNTY MATCHES. LONDON, June 24. The scores at the end of the second day of the county matches were: Surrey declared with nine wickets down for 388. Oxford made 311 (Blaikie 75, Knott 65). Surrey in the second in'nings has lost three wickets for 155 (Snndham 70 not out). Middlesex declared with eight wickets down for 470 (Hearne 116, Dales 69, Haig 68). Essex have lost one wicket .for 27 runs.
Sussex made 192 (Tate 102 not out). Robinson took six wickets for 87. Yorkshire have lost two wickets for 283 (Sutcliffe 143 not out, Holmes 83). Kent scored 349 (Hubble 65 not out). Nottingham have made 465 for the loss of six wickets' (Whysall 151, George Gunn. 98, Payton 68). In the match Somerset against T)erbv. Somerset scored 447. Lyon failed to increase his overnight score of 219, which is an individual record for the season.
