Supreme Courts.
(Pt>r "Press Association.)
Dunedin, March 9
The Supremo Court was occupied all day yesterday hearing the charge of sheep stealing against Samuel Shaw, a farmer at Berwick. The case is not concluded. The feature of the case is that the son and daughter of the accused gave evidence that their father was in the habit of taking for killing, the sheep of the prosecutor. Council for the defence pointed out that this evidence had nothing to do with the charge, and called evidence to discredit that of Shaw's children. Auckland, Thursday.
At the Supreme Court sessions William John M'Kenzie received three years. A Maori, named Tauheta, for failing to fulfil his term of probation received six months. Robert Harris, for unlawfully wounding, seven years.
