[To The Editok.] Sir, —At their meeting on Tuesday last the Fire Brigade appointed two local accountants to investigate their accounts. In my opinion the Brigade should have kept local feeling out of the question altogether. It is difficult, in a matter of this kind, to entirely lay aside local sympathies or antipathies, and it would have been more satis,factory to all parties to have em'ployed an outsider —say the Government Auditor. —I am etc., Sympathy.
