Honoring a Deceased Judge.

(Per Press Association .)

Wellington, This day

Some 20 members of the legal profession attended the Appeal Court at 10.30 when Mr Brandon, President of the Law Society, asked the Chief Justice to unveil the portrait of the late Judge Richmond, which had been painted for the Society. Chief Justice Prendergasfc said he accepted the task with pleasure. Both he and his brother Judges each in his own district had so recently expressed their opinions of the deceased judge that he would not reiterate the sentiments, but hoped that the picture would remain for generations as an example to the Bench, Bar and public. He then withdrew the screen from the portrait, which proves to be an excellent likeness.
