(Pi r P/r.w A,nstiriat<o)i.—Copi/rii/ht.)

Adelaide, This day. York's brother has been arrested for complicating in the mining swindles. It transpired that they have been operating some months, using the names of different well-known investors. During the recent bootn when shares were steadily on the up-grade they cleared large sums and were undetected; but wheu the slump came they defaulted. The inquiries aroused the suspicions of the brokers who set a trap and had fictitious rosy telegrams about mines forwarded from Western Australia. The swindlers fell in. Previously the brokers had complained of the serious leakages in telegrams, by which the market was spoiled, but the Telegraph Department refused to give credence to the accusations. One firm loose £i 00 by the swindlers.
