Australians v. Otago.
A WIN FOR THE AUSTRALIANS. [By Telegraph.] (Per Pre*s Association-) Duxedix, Nov. 24, After the heavy rain of last night, lasting till 8 this morning, the mostsanguine supporters of Ota-go had very little hopes that the 70 runs required to win the match against the Australians would be scored. The day was fine but dull, and the wicket exactly suited Truuible and M'Kibbin. The latter developed a tremendous break from both sides, but mainly from leg. It is no exaggerate say that some of his balls broke nearly three feet. With three wickets dowu for 12 and requiring 70 to win, Liggins (not out) and Downes were the first pair. Downes left at 19. Liggins played manfully and carried his score to 20, having had a good share of luck. Raines (12) was the only other player to reach double figures, the total reaching 65, the Australians thus winning by 17 runs. Bowling analysis : Jones, two wickets for G ; Truuible, nine for 30 ; M'Kibbin, threa for 12.
