The Coming Elections.

Dunedix, This day. Mr J. A. Millar addressed the electors at Port Chalmers last night. Tiifere was a good attendance. He reviewed thework of the past session, speaking faborably of the Government and their measure. He expressed regret that owing to banking afiairs the late Colonial Treasurer would probably not be able to take an active part in public affairs for some time to come. A vote of thanks and an expression of regret at the severance of the speaker's connection was earned unanimously. Mr Earnshaw addressed a crowded meeting of his constituents at the City Hall. He reviewed the work of the session, generally condemning the Government and its measures. He said the Old Age Pensions Bill would, if passed, have had the effect of demoralising and degrading the workers. He spoke strongly against borrowing, and referred bitterly to the action of the labor organisations in rejecting him, denouncing billet-hunters in the unions. He claimed to have done good work for the labor party, and asked for the support of the working men, despite the conduct of the leaders of the labor organisations. There was great confusion throughout, and the meeting was decidedly rowdy. "When a vote of thanks and confidence was put the chairman could scarcely be heard ; only about 100 voted, most of whom were in favor of the motion. Chkistciiuecii, This clay. Mr T. E.
