The Appeal Court decided in the case of the Queen v. the City Corporation that the respondent had a statutory right to the land on which the cabmen's shelter shed was erected. In the case of Queen v. Annie Brown the Court unanimously held that neither the Appeal nor the Supreme Courts at this stage had the power to suspend her sentence pending the appeal to the Privy Council. In the case of the Union Bank of Australia v. Murray Aynesley, a appeal from Justice Denniston, the appeal was dismissed, the Chief Justice dissenting.
