THE FEDERAL BILL.
THE LEGISLATURES DIFFER
Brisbane, Oct. 14. The Legislative Council, by 18 to 11, rejected the Hon. Mr Thynne's motion that the Council does not insist on its amendment to the Federal Bill, and also decided to send a further message to the Legislative Assembly that the Council under the Constitution Act, equally with the Assembly, is charged with the maintenance of the constitution where the question at issue involves an alteration in the constitutional law. Further consideration was adjourned until Tuesday.
