DUTY ON COLONIAL FRUITS.

MEETING OF AGENTS GENERAL.

London, Oct. 11. A meeting of the A gents-General convened by Sir Saul Samuel, at the instance of Mr Playford, discussed the propriety of applying for a repeal of the duty on dried apricots. Mr Playford said that Californian dried fruits paid duty though the preserved goods were free. It was generally agreed that the alleged injustice to the Australian article was unfounded. It was resolved to cable to the respective Governments to that effect before interviewing Mr Chamberlain. On the motion of Sir Saul Samuel, the Agents-General resolved to meet every month and discuss common interests.
