The Glee Club then sang " The Carnavole," and Miss Smith followed with " The River of Years," which w T as splendidly sung. " Fanny Filosophy," an action song by ten young ladies with fans, was repeated in response to a unanimous call. Miss Speight's song, " The Flight of Ages," fairly charmed the audience, and she had to appear again. The first part of the programme was concluded with " Hush thee my babe," by the Glee Club.

The second part opened with a vigorous rendering of " Hark 'tis the Indian Drum "by the Glee Club. A laughable trio " A little farm well tilled " was so well given by Misses Wright, Joll, and Speight that it had to be repeated. Miss Watson then gave a solo on the piano in her usual brilliant style. Miss Wilson followed with " The Promise of Life," a song which suited her voice admirably. Mr Speight sang " The Deathless Army " in good style. Miss Speight acted as conductor for the glees, and Miss Macdonald, a young lady of II years, played the glee accompaniments _ with the touch and skill of a professional. Donald Macdonald acted as stage manager. The programme concluded with four original plantations songs and choruses by specially prepared Niggers, which besides being amusing were decidedly clever. The committee deserve great praise for the manner in which the whole affair was managed. The prize fund will benefit to the extent of £7.
