GENERAL ITEMS. Auckland, August 20. This morning Mrs Randell, a widow, aged 50, was found dead in bed at Devenporfc. She retired to rest as usual on the previous night. She had a wound two inches long across the throat. Close to her right hand was a very sharp tomahawk of her own. Dr Robers said she bad been dead three hours and the wounds appeared selfinflicted. This supply is in sandstone formation and is better than the former oil found in the papa formation. The oil is accompanied by a great presrtre of gas.
