S.M. Court, Hastings.

At the Magistrate's Court this morning before Mr S. Turnbull, S.M., the following cases were disposed of : W. J. Tyerman v. T. Stanby, claim 50s on judgment summons. Ordered to be paid in two instalments of 25s a month or in default 4 days' imprisonment. Joseph Grant v*Hupatu Kaukina, claim £ll Is 6d. Adjourned for a month. Trustees of the late Donald McLean v. Iria Rupere and Werepena Weretiko, claim £B7 on judgment summons. Payment ordered forthwith, or 14 days' imprisonment ; order suspended for 8 months. T. Melville v. Hepere Te Rohu, claim £ls 12s lOd. Mr Scannell for plaintiff. Judgment granted for payment forthwith, or 7 days in Napier gaol; order suspended for one month. Maurice Breen, charged with maliciously damaging a bridge, was fined 5s and costs £2 10s. An application for a maintenance order against a young man was granted, and he was ordered to contribute 5s per week towards the maintenance of his child until it reached 14 years of age.
