Seymour Forte, formerly private secretary to Lord Loch when Governor of Cape Colony, asserts that Mr Cecil Rhodes supported the raid on the Transvaal, as ho had positive knowledge that President Kruger was arranging an anti-English alliance. Capetown, May 29. Parliament, without a division, carried a resolution to the effect that it trusted the Imperial Government would take effective measures with regard to Rhodesia, making raids impossible. A motion to cancel tho charter of the company was rejected.
