Hill, after playing k splendidly for 42 when the adjourn- ■ ment took place, only added two to 1 his score when he was caught. | Iredale and Kelly put on the runs in quick succession, and 94 runs were registered in 70 minutes.
Mold took three wickets for 109, Briggs two for 52, Baker two for 13, and Hallam one for 50. May 29. The Home team in their first innings made IGB, ilio principal scores being:—
Hallam, not out ... 13 Jones took four wickets for 69 runs, Trumble four for 21, and Giffen two for S3. The Home team secured sufficient runs to prevent a follow on, and the Australians went to the wickets for their second innings. The innings opened disastrously, and the board at one time showed six wickets had fallen for G8 runs, but Gregory and Trumble stayed the rot, and G1 runs were added before a separation was effected. The innings ultimately closed for 189, making a grand total of 420 for the two innings. The only double-figure scores were : Hill 12 Gregory 54 Trumble ... ... 30 Requiring 253 runs to win, the Home team went to the wickets, but were unable to make any lengthy stand against the bowling of the Australians, and were disposed of for 98 runs, the visitors thus winning by 154 runs. The next match commences to-day at Oxford against the University. Result of tour : —Matches played, 6 ; won, 4 ; lost, nil; drawn, 2.
