A TERRIBLE SCENE.

CORONATION FESTIVITIES. BOOTHS RUSHED AT A PEASANT'S FEAST. 1100 PEOPLE CRUSHED TO DEATH. St. Petersburg, May 2g. Information has been received of an appalling accident which occurred at a vast assemblage of peasants near Moscow, who had congregated for the purpose of celebrating the coronation of Czar. It seems that the booths were rushed by the throng, and the attendance not being sufficient, a terrible pressure occurred in a narrow passage leading to the same. The scene was terrible, people being trampled to death, principally women and children. All efforts to stop the rush by tho soldiery and police Were unavailing, the crowd rushing on to their doom. It is officially announced that 1100 were killed and 450 injured.
