MB E. WAKEFIELD’S LETTER TO THE TIMES. PROHIBITION IN AMERICA. London, Aug. 23. Mr Edward Wakefield, editor of the "Wellington Press, writes a letter to the Times in which he says the agitation against the Chinese in the colonies is uncalled for, and that it has been created to serve political ends. Washington. Aug. 23. The House of Representatives has passed the Chinese Prohibition Bill.
