PARNELL AND THE TIMES
ARTICLE IN FREEMAN’S JOURNAL. COURSE TO BE TAKEN BY THE TIMES’ people. ARCHBISHOPS SUBSCRIBING. x London, Aug 23. The Freeman’s Journal, in an article on the Parnell v. Times case, states that it is expected that Mr John Walter (proprietor of the Times), Buckle (editor), and Spear (publisher), will state in the witness box that they are i pendant of the authorship of the articles containing the libel, and will refer to McDonald (the manager), who will probably decline to answer the question. Archbishop Walsh, of Dublin, and Archbishop Croke, of Cashel, have each sent subscriptions to the fund being raised for the purpose of defraying Parnell’s expenses.
