Unemployment in British Film Industry LONDON, Nov. 5 There have been 1630 film workers idled, due to difiiculty in finding financial backers for new British productions. A working party set up several months ago to investigate the high costs of film production has handed its report to the Government. It is understood that there are likely to be drastic changes in the methods 1 of producing films. The film workers’ trade union leader, Mr Tom O’Brien,, to-day called for a £20,000,000 Government loan ■ to set the British film industry on £ its feet.
