CRICKET

CHRISTCHURCH, November 3 Sir Arthur Donnelly announced this evening that he intended to retire next week from the position of president of the New Zealand Cricket Council. This will end an association with cricket administration in New Zealand which has covered a period of 37 years. Sir Arthur Donnelly was a member of the New Zealand Cricket Council continuously from 1912 until 1937, apart from the war years. He was chairman from 1928 until 1937, and in that capacity accompanied the New Zealand cricket team that went to England in 1931. He did much in bringing about a progressive policy in organising visits of English teams to New Zealand. On ''his retirement after 25 years’ service he was elected a life member of the council. He was elected president of the council last year.

The following is the Brunner team to play Grey Motors:— Williams ..(4), Roberts, Lee, Frazer, Swinburn, Dando, Gibson, W. McNeish, Emerg. Walton, Dixon, Loubre.
