WAIUTA NOTES
[Our Own Cbrresnondent], Mrs J. C- Sullivan and Mrs Radford have left on a holiday visit to Auckland, and Wellington. Mrs E. Connors, of Runanga, has been visiting Waiuta as the guest of Mi-- J. McMahon. Mrs McEwin, who has resided in Waiuta for many years, has left for Christchurch, where she will in future reside. Mr and Mrs W. Brett, Westport, wera the recent guests of Mr and Mrs W. Lines jnr. Mr and Mrs C. Mosley (Reefton) paid a brief visit to the townsmp during the week-end.
Mr R Breslin is on a visit to Christchurch.
Mr J. Eade, of Greymouth, paid a brief visit to Waiuta during the week.
Mr P. O’Donnell of Wellington was a recent visitor to the township. Miss J. McKenzie, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs A. Saunders, has returned to Chrstchurch.
The half-yearly meeting of the Waiuta Co-op Society was held in the Institute Hall recently. There was a large attendance of shareholders. The president, Mr Morrissey read a very satisfactory report. It was decided to pay a rebate of 6d All members expressed their satisfaction with the Society in general.
The Women’s Co-op Guild hale: a social in the club rooms last Saturday, the evening being spent in games and dancing. Items were rei:dered by Mesdames Lines, Dobbin and Purcell. Mesdames Ord, Finlav and Robertson supplied the music. A dainty home made supper was served by the ladies, and the singing of “'Auld Lang Syne” concluded a very enjoyable evening.
