BRUNNER RIFLE CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS
A letter from the Greymouth Army Office stating that the rifle range was unsafe during sporting competitions, was received at the annual meeting of the Brunner Rffie Club last night. The letter added that the head-covers over the markers’ gallery needed renewing, and it was decided to effect these repairs immediately. The club intends to hold a working bee this week, and will invite the Grey Club to attend and help with the arrangements. The date of . the opening day was left to the decision of the management committee. The date will be announced after the range has been approved by the army authorities. *
An application by the Greymouth Army Office, for the use of the range, if required at any time, was granted. The balance sheet revealed that the club was sound financially. Mr T. Morgan presided. Election of officers for the year resulted: President, Mr T. Morgan (reelected); vice-president, Mr C. Buckman; secretary, Mr H. Turnbull; vicepatrons, Messrs W. Neame, F. McDiarmid, T. Stapleton, A. Crooks, J. Pegley, D. Sutherland, and W. Lowe; handicappers, Messrs C. Buckman, G. Wyley and M. Eder; management committee, officers, J. Harper, C. Williams and G. Julian. Shooting committee, handicappers, Messrs, T. Warren and J. Harper. ■
