Westport Borough Affairs

The 'Westport Borough Council, on Wednesday night passed foi* payment accounts in the gas supply improvement loan amounting to £6,226 4s 4d. A recommendation from the Reserves Committee, that a lease of subsection 13, Section 90/1, Municipal Reserve, be granted Mr. V. S. Collins for 21 years, with the right of renewal for a further 21 years at an annual rental of £2, was adopted. The following recommendations from the Works and Waterworks Committee were approved: That the Council approve of the proposed alteration to the sewer for the extension of the buildings occupied, by the Labour Department; that no action be taken regarding water tables near V. J. Head's -property; that no action be taken regarding the drainage on an area near T. Price’s property, but that steps be taken to stop wastage from leaking tans; and that a septic tank on W; Honey’s property be raised to drain into the Queen Street drain.
