Yesterday morning a good number of horses were out doing fast work at Westport. The best gallop of the morning was by Blue Print who sprinted a half in 49sec. Sky High (Shaw)' and Evening Star (Barr) galloped a half in 51sec. Early Astir (Burt) sprinted three furlongs in 39sec. Flying Orders (Barr) and Double Cross (Hampton went from the six and picked up Blue Print at the half, taking 1.19 for the whole journey. Precipitate and Cardmaster sprinted a half in 50isec. Cricket Field (R. Frame), Queen’s General (McGuire), and Victory Night (R. Burt) galloped five furlongs in 1.14. Queen’s General finished in (front. Transfusionist (Frame), Merrijigs (Shaw) and Rdversdale (R. Burt) went from the barrier and stalls at the six. Transfusionist was the smartest out, but was headed by Riversdale. Merrijigs finished on and they were together at the post in 1.19. Chianti (Shaw) did slow work. Skyzami and Leigh Note were companions over a half in 52sec, going easily. , Sitology, Te Wanaka, Palomino and others did useful work outs.
